22 Jan Angelina Jolie snubbed by Oscar
Hollywoods most beautiful homewrecker/humanitarian looses out on an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Mariane Pearl, the wife of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. I have seen this movie and let me tell you there is no longer any question in my mind if her past Oscar win was just some monumental fluke. It’s very clear she is a gifted actress with the ability to embody the esscence of this brave woman during the darkest moment of her life. Even though we all know how the story ends, Jolie’s performance gives you hope that maybe, just maybe things will turn out another way.
It was nice to see Angelina as something other than a sexy assasian, lust demon, or some kind of manic oversexed drug addict with wanton disregard for other peoples feelings like most of the roles the studios give her. Ms. Jolie humbled herself and it worked in a big way. Too bad she didn’t get an Oscar nod because there was plenty of hype going around for weeks that she was a shoe in for the award.
