Theyskens’ Theory

These ‘spants’ seem like a cool and welcome trend.

They’re calling them “spants,” said a fellow observer at the Theyskens’ Theory prefall collection appointment yesterday afternoon. Spants — like these silk wide leg pants with a built-in split train — are a perfect mix of the designer Olivier Theyskens’s past successes: the long flowing silk skirts (styled with a faded tee) and the super-wide-leg trouser. Also new among the label’s faithful hot shorts, biker jackets and low slung denim pants are crystal-embroidered sheer tops and tights (that slouch in the perfect, grungy way) and a glowing signature print inspired by certain light-catching prisms.
