Feather Trend

Winter is perfect for combining different textures such as fur, wool, tweed and leather however this season something new has been hitting the catwalks, feathers! Feathers were seen in abundance during the A/W 2011 fashion shows and now available in a selection of designer collections. Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Naomi Campbell and Alicia Keys are all fans of the feather trend.

Feathers are splashed over a huge selection of designer collections this season. From designer bags and shoes with a feather trim from the likes of Manolo to the more full on fur and feather coat from Guy Laroche for those that really want to make a statement!

Colour wise the feathers tend to be black, white or nude with splashes of colour from peacock style feathers. Brightly coloured feathers are making an impact in the Matthew William’s collection this season. The bright colours, embellishment and sequins are ideal for the upcoming Christmas party season and these are definitely not to be missed!
Accessorises aren’t ignored either with feathers appearing on earrings, necklaces and scarves.

However, if you’re not really feeling the feathery texture but would still like to work this trend this season the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection from Isabel Marant is something to take a look at!. Working as an alternative to the ever popular leopard print the collection consists of tops, skirts, and jeans in black and white or natural greens and browns.

Will you be sporting the feather trend this season?
